Privacy
- Information provided on the application and or enquiry form will be used, where applicable for the purpose of assessing a student’s application, accepting a students’ enrolment, processing and advising a student of their assessment results and other communications to the student as required.
- A student has the right to access personal information that the Creative Institute of Australia Pty. Ltd holds about them. If a student wishes to access or inquire about the handling of their personal information, please contact the school on free call 1300 64 66 44.
- Students’ personal information will not be forwarded to any other student or other party unless written approval is received from the student.
Terms
- “School” or “CIA” means Creative Institute of Australia Pty. Ltd. –
- “Fees” means the fees payable for tuition by the student to the course in which the student is enrolling, as specified.
- “Student” means the other party to the signed agreement.
- “Course” means the program or unit module in which the student is enrolling as specified.
- “Premises” means any campus buildings or locations used or occupied by the school to provide the course to the student.
- The school reserves the right to discontinue performance of any course as it own discretion, however, if the school exercises this right, the school will issue a refund to the student for any fees paid by the student in respect of tuition not received, on a pro rata basis.
Responsibility:
The student acknowledges and agrees that the school shall not be liable to the student for:
- Personal injury suffered or sustained by the student at the location of delivery or whilst on any field trip taken in connection with the course:
- Damage to, or loss of any goods or property of the student, including in respect of loss or damage caused or arising from any negligence of the school, its employees, subcontractors, agents, servants or defective equipment.
Transfer
- Enrolment in the course is not transferable and this agreement cannot be assigned without prior written approval from the school.
- The school reserves the right to suspend, cancel or defer a students’ agreement if the school, deem their performance or behaviour unacceptable to the school and other students.
Suspend or Deferral
- The student cannot defer enrolment in any course under this agreement without prior written approval of the school.
- Any request for deferral must be made in writing addressed to the Director.
- Approval of a request for deferral may be subject to a deferral fee.
- Fees cannot be deferred under this agreement.
- In the event that a student is unable to attend 2 or more face to face lessons the student will be offered the missed classes in the next class group at the same level, subject to enrolment numbers.
- In the event that student is unable to attend a scheduled workshop – no compensation will be afforded to the student.
Fees
- The student agrees to pay the fees as set out in the fee schedule. If the students’ tuition fee account is in any way overdue or unpaid, the school reserves the right to disable access to all classes until the account is settled in full.
- If tuition fees are not paid with 14 days of your due date a late penalty of 10% of the balance is automatically applied against your account and a further 10% is added every 7 days until the account has been finalised, the student may lose their place in the course.
- If a student submits a rejected (bounced) cheque payable to the school, a $45 fee will be issued against the student.
- Enrolment in the course is not secured until the enrolment form is signed by the student and returned to the school, and the full tuition fee for the unit are paid in full.
- In the event the student cancels their enrolment with less than 14 full working days prior to commencement a refund of 50% of tuition fees will be refunded to the student within 14 days of written notification of withdrawal.
- In the event the student cancels their enrolment with more than 14 full working days prior to commencement a refund of 85% of tuition fees will be refunded to the student within 14 days of written notification of withdrawal.
- Once the course has commenced no refunds will be issued.
- In the unlikely event the provider cancels the course a full refund of tuition fees will be issued to the student within 14 days of the date of default.
Indemnity
- I, the student, whose name appears in the enrolment, certify that the information I have given is true and that I have read the terms and conditions and agree to be bound by them. I agree that this agreement shall be governed in all respects by and interpreted in accordance with the law of the Commonwealth of Australia and dependent upon the applicable legislation of the state in which my study is undertaken.
- I hereby request the school to enrol the student who is named on the agreement as a student of Creative Institute of Australia Pty. Ltd. In consideration of the school agreeing to such enrolment, I hereby indemnify the school against any liability for any injury, damage or loss of the type referred to in such agreement suffered by the student and against any actions, claims and demands which may be made against Creative Institute of Australia Pty. Ltd. By the student or by any other person by reason of such injury, damage or loss suffered by the student.
Acknowledgement:
The student acknowledges and agrees that –
- The school takes no responsibility for the personal views of students or their response to the views of others in relation to any issues of morality, sexuality, religious views and the like. The views expressed by the school’s employees, subcontractors, students, agents and servants are not necessarily those of the school.
- Photography, the arts and communication studies can be of a provocative nature and involve imagery, design, ideas and text of all types including war, sex, sensuality, forensics, death, religion and other subjects of a controversial or sensitive nature. Such imagery and subjects may be presented and studied in school and may be presented in the form of educational and advertising material by the schools employees, subcontractors, students, agents and servants.
- The student will respect the rights of other students and staff to maintain a positive and safe learning environment. The student may be asked to leave the premises or class if their behaviour is threatening, intimidating or disruptive.
- The school shall have no responsibility or liability for the actions of other students on or off the premises.
- The school may need to amend, change or postpone class timetables and tutors from time to time and the school reserves its right to do so without written notice to the student.
- The school takes no responsibility for and makes no representations regarding the future prospects of the student in obtaining employment within the industry or with regard to establishing a successful career in the industry.
- The student will be required to pay for the replacement or repair of any equipment of the school or its employees, agents, subcontractors or servants which is damaged or destroyed by the student.
- Online students must complete their program within the time allocated on the information section of the website. In the event a student cannot fulfil their agreement a formal written extension request must be submitted within 14 days of the course completion time.
Assessments
- Students are responsible for ensuring that work submitted is their own and is submitted within the set assignment period.
- The school may accept late submissions where the student has supporting documentation or special circumstances such as a doctors’ certificate.
- Late submissions will only be accepted with a specific time.
- In cases where late submissions are not supported by acceptable supporting documentation or special circumstance, the acceptance of late submission will be at the schools absolute discretion and may be subject to a late submission fee to cover the schools reasonable administrative costs.
- Assignment and folio submissions will not be assessed of it is evident that the submission requirements have not been met.
Other
- The student agrees to allow the school to use any imagery or works, produced and submitted for assessment by the student for use in advertising, exhibitions, publications, websites and displays for the purpose of promotion of the student and or the school. The return of these works is at the discretion of the school. The student shall not remove any submitted imagery or works from the school without the prior consent from the school.
